Meet our Presidents

James Attwood , , , Tri Pointe Homes Arizona

James Attwood is the Division President of Tri Pointe Homes Arizona. Attwood rejoined Tri Pointe Homes Arizona in 2020 after serving as vice president of operations for Tri Pointe Homes San Diego. He started with the company as a construction intern in 2005, and has over 14 years of construction, sales, operations, and leadership experience.

James has played an integral role in maximizing homebuilding operations for TRI Pointe Homes across multiple markets in the West.

James holds an M.B.A. from Arizona State University.

Bryan R. Havel , , , Tri Pointe Homes Austin

Bryan Havel is the Division President of Tri Pointe Homes Austin. Before joining Tri Pointe, Bryan was the Division President for William Lyon Homes over the Austin and San Antonio markets. Bryan started his homebuilding career with Standard Pacific Homes in 2006, and held positions including Division President, Regional VP of Finance, and VP of Finance in multiple Texas and Colorado markets.

With more than 14 years of homebuilding experience within the Texas market, Bryan has had hands on experience within finance, project management, land acquisition and development, and operations. In his role at Tri Pointe Homes Austin, he focuses on elevating the company’s growth and operational expertise.

Bryan is a Board Member for HomeAid Austin. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance and Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jeffrey D. Frankel , , , Tri Pointe Homes Bay Area

Jeffrey (Jeff) Frankel is the Division President of Tri Pointe Homes Bay Area. He leads his team in all facets of homebuilding, including land acquisition and development, new home construction, purchasing and customer care.

Previously, Jeffrey worked for William Lyon Homes, Bank of America and Comerica Bank. He focused on land acquisition and project management at Lyon Homes and served as Vice President for both Bank of America and Comerica Bank.

His key responsibilities include acquisition, entitlements, site planning and product development. He has extensive experience with both single-family and multi-family developments. Jeffrey received his B.S. from Santa Clara University.

Leslie (Gray) G. Shell , , , Tri Pointe Homes Charlotte

Gray Shell is president of Tri Pointe Homes Charlotte Division. He is responsible for launching the division based in Charlotte with operations in both Charlotte and Raleigh. In his role as president, Gray is focused on recruiting a distinguished team, creating innovative home designs, and acquiring new sites for future communities.

Gray has 20 years of hands-on strategic, operational and financial leadership experience. He has held various leadership roles in the homebuilding industry, most recently serving as division president for Taylor Morrison, the nation’s seventh largest homebuilder, based out of Raleigh. In two short years, Gray more than doubled the division’s revenue and created incremental land pipeline capacity to support future growth. Prior to that, Gray served as chief financial officer for Orleans Homes, a hedge fund-owned homebuilder generating $250 million in annual revenue.

Gray earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Appalachian State University.

Ali Heavener , , , Tri Pointe Homes Coastal Carolinas

Ali Heavener is the Division President of Tri Pointe Homes Coastal Carolinas. Before joining Tri Pointe, Ali held strategic leadership roles at companies such as Lennar, D.R. Horton, and Century Communities, Inc. Ali has a deep understanding of the coastal markets across the Carolinas and Georgia and significant experience in market expansion, organic growth, team building, operational excellence, and cultivating key business relationships.

Ali has served as a board member for the Savannah Homebuilders Association as well as the Hilton Head Area Association of Realtors.

Ali earned her Master of Arts in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Bachelor of Science from York College.

Kelly T. Taga , , , Tri Pointe Homes Colorado

Kelly T. Taga is the Division President for Tri Pointe Homes Colorado. Kelly has over 18 years of experience within the homebuilding industry, having held roles such as Division President, as well as CIO & Vice President of IT.

Prior to joining Tri Pointe Homes, Kelly worked for Richmond American Homes for over 15 years, ultimately holding the position of Senior Division President for the Northern Colorado division, assisting the Seattle and Portland markets over the last 5 years as well.

His key responsibilities include supporting the division’s efforts and focus on elevating the company’s growth and enhancing product diversification to adapt to varying buy profiles. Kelly received his Bachelor’s in Chemistry from the Colorado School of Mines, and has previously served on the board of the Colorado School of Mines Alumni Association.

Sean P. Ricks , , , Tri Pointe Homes Dallas – Fort Worth

Sean Ricks is President of Tri Pointe Homes’ Dallas-Fort Worth Division. With over 15 years of homebuilding and real estate experience, Sean most recently served as Associate General Counsel at TRI Pointe Homes, where he played an integral role in the 2018 acquisition of Dunhill Homes and Nathan Carlisle Homes.

Prior to joining TRI Pointe Homes, Sean worked for Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he served as Corporate Counsel, and in the Southern California divisions of Centex Homes and Pulte Group.

His key responsibilities include supporting and growing the division’s efforts in talent recruitment, innovative home designs, and new site acquisitions. Sean received his Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Business Administration from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and his law degree, with honors, from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law.

Bradley W. Blank , , , Tri Pointe Homes DC Metro

Bradley (Brad) Blank is the Division President of Tri Pointe Homes DC Metro based in Potomac, Maryland. Brad joined Tri Pointe in 2014 as the Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary during which time he provided guidance to the company’s Board of Directors and Committee, and played a critical role in the company’s strategic growth following the Weyerhauser Real Estate Company (WRECO) merger.

Prior to joining the company, Brad served as Corporate Counsel for Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, working with a variety of public and private companies focusing on mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, securities offerings, and general corporate advice.

Bradley received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Pepperdine University and earned his law degree from the University of San Diego.

Joseph D. Mandola , , , Tri Pointe Homes Houston

Joe Mandola is the Division President of Tri Pointe Homes Houston. In the 25 years since joining the company, Joe has served as an Area Manager, Director of Housing Operations, and Vice President of Operations. He became Senior Vice President and General Manager in 2010 and helped lead the division through the expansion into Austin before becoming President in 2018.

With a decades-long reputation in the building industry in Texas, Joe has deep relationships with trade partners, community leaders, and other industry professionals. He belongs to the Association of Former Students, Texas A&M University; 12th Man Association, Texas A&M University; and Sacred Heart Society.

Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University.

Michael C. Taylor , , , Tri Pointe Homes Inland Empire & San Diego

Michael (Mike) Taylor is the Division President for Tri Pointe Homes Inland Empire. Michael previously served as Vice President of REO property for Farmers & Merchants Bank.

He has had many career milestones along the way, including leading Inland Empire's division re-entry into the Orange County market and leading planning and development teams for three award-winning master planned communities.

Michael received his bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning and Real Estate Development from University of Southern California and completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School. He is an avid supporter of Little League Baseball and supports the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Gorgonio Pass and HomeAid Inland Empire.

Klif D. Andrews , , , Tri Pointe Homes Las Vegas

After joining Las Vegas’ Tri Pointe Homes team nearly two decades ago, Klif Andrews became Division President in 2006. Prior to joining the company, he served as an analyst with Coscan/Davidson and Trimark Development as Project Manager.

Active in the Southern Nevada Building Industry Association since 1999, he has held numerous board and committee chairmanships, also serving as President of HomeAid of Southern Nevada and holding various board memberships with the Boy Scouts, the Education Foundation and the University of Las Vegas Foundation. Klif graduated from CSU Fresno with a bachelor’s degree in Finance.

Thomas G. Grable , , , Tri Pointe Homes Orange County-Los Angeles

Thomas (Tom) Grable is the Division President for Tri Pointe Homes Orange County-Los Angeles. He is responsible for successfully planning and implementing profitable and quality new home communities. He honed his industry expertise in various roles with William Lyon Homes, Inc., Watt Homes, Inc. and Beazer Homes, Inc. in California.

He has served the Building Industry Association of Southern California’s Board of Directors since 2006 as a board member and has held leadership positions with the Saddleback Valley YMCA.

Tom earned his bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton and has completed various professional certificate programs at the University of California.

Joel Underwood , , , Tri Pointe Homes Orlando

Joel Underwood is the Division President of Tri Pointe Homes Orlando. Joel has over 15 years of financial and operational experience in the homebuilding industry and has held various leadership roles with companies such as Beazer, Pulte, and most recently Taylor Morrison, where he served as the vice president of operations based in Orlando, Florida.

Joel has extensive experience spearheading divisions, driving growth, innovating processes to enhance business results, and managing complex projects, such as the planning and development of a 5,200-unit master-planned community.

Joel serves on the board of directors for HomeAid Orlando. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from Brigham Young University.

Bob L. Davenport , , , Tri Pointe Homes Raleigh

Bob L. Davenport is the Division President of Tri Pointe Homes Raleigh. Before joining Tri Pointe, Bob was the Division President for Beazer Homes in the Raleigh market, and has over 17 years of homebuilding experience. He started his homebuilding career as a VP of Finance with Pulte Homes in Raleigh.

As Carolina native, Bob has strong local relationships and a deep understanding of the land acquisition and entitlement process in the Triangle. In his role at Tri Pointe Homes Raleigh, Bob will continue to focus on building our land pipeline, recruiting top talent and delivering inspiring new home designs.

Bob received his bachelor's degree in Accounting from Wake Forest University.

Philip S. Bodem , , , Tri Pointe Homes Sacramento

Phil Bodem is the Division President for Tri Pointe Homes Sacramento. He has over 25 years of experience in the home building industry. Phil has previously served as Division President at both Taylor Morrison and Meritage Homes for a combined 16 years.

Phil has a proven track record of leadership that is focused on driving business results, achieving growth objectives, and establishing a collaborative, team-oriented culture focused on providing an outstanding customer experience. He has significant experience in land acquisition, finance, forward planning, land development, sales and marketing, construction, and customer service. He has played a vital role in building high quality homes for a variety of consumer groups, including luxury, first and second move-up, and entry level buyers in both single family detached and multi-family homes.

He has served as the President for the Building Industry Association’s Orange County Chapter, as a Board of Director for Family Assistance Ministries, and as a Builder Captain for HomeAid. Phil received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Santa Clara University in 1989.

Kenneth C. Krivanec , , , Tri Pointe Homes Washington & Utah

Kenneth (Ken) Krivanec is the President of Tri Pointe Homes Washington. He has held other roles at the division, including Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Kenneth has significant experience in strategic planning, consumer research, land acquisition, product design and development, operations, project/corporate finance, sales/marketing, organizational development and mortgage operations.

He developed his homebuilding expertise with Ivory Homes, Ryland Homes and KB Home. He currently serves as a Board Member and Executive Committee Member of the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust and the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. Kenneth attended the University of Utah, Baylor University and the University of Washington Business School.

Ronald A. Turner , , , Tri Pointe Solutions

Ronald (Ron) is the President of Tri Pointe Solutions. Ron has worked in the homebuilding mortgage industry for almost 20 years.

Prior to joining our team he held senior mortgage management positions with two other public homebuilding companies, most recently serving as Regional Vice President for Home Community Mortgage where he managed the mortgage relationship with KB Homes. Ron attended Spartanburg Methodist College and the University of Phoenix.
